To,
Dr. Shailesh Nikam,
Hon. Secretary, NIMA M.S.B.
Ref - Your suggestion for giving opinion on the news in Loksatta dt.06/01/2013 regarding Ayurvedic , Unani & Homoeopathic doctors.
First of all let me make it very clear that, the news above mentioned has nothing to do with the right of Allopathic practice of the practitioners registered under parts A, A1, B and D of the Schedules appended to the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act 1960.
These practitioners are lawfully authorized to practice ALLOPATHY under various Central and State Acts as well as State Govt. Notifications and they can continue to do the same without any problem.
The practitioners of Indian Medicine registered under parts C and E of the Schedules appended to The MMP ACT 1960, will have to wait till the approval of the State Government for their practice of Allopathic Medicines.
I once again repeat that there is absolutely no need to get panicky for the doctors registered under parts A, A1, B and D of the Schedule appended to MMP ACT 1960 as their right to practice Allopathy along with their resp. pathy in INDIAN MEDICINE is completely safeguarded.
N.I.M.A. promises these practitioners to protect their legal professional rights.
Now the activists of our N.I.M.A. should interact immediately with the Editors of various leading newspapers and Upgrade them regarding details of various parts of the Schedule appended to MMP ACT 1960, which are based upon various MEDICAL COURSES and their respective curricula. This step if taken urgently will definitely avoid the erroneous and defamatory publication of such news leading to confusion and anarchy in the masses.
With warm regards,
Dr. Vinayak E. Mhatre
